Our Work at Arqive

Arqive specializes in digital curation and lifecycle data management. Our goal is to ensure that digital materials remain accessible, secure, and meaningful for years to come. Digital curation is not just about storing data. It is the active process of managing digital assets from creation or acquisition through their eventual disposition.

We follow established professional standards and apply the following core principles in every project:

  • Lifecycle Management
We manage digital assets across their entire lifespan, from initial creation to final archiving or removal.

  • Selection and Appraisal
We help clients determine which materials should be preserved, based on research value, evidential importance, and long-term usefulness.

  • Preservation
We implement strategies that prevent data loss and address risks such as format obsolescence and corruption.

  • Access
Our systems support secure and appropriate access to curated materials, while protecting their integrity.

  • FAIR Principles
We follow the FAIR data guidelines, which promote materials that are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

  • Trusted Digital Repositories
Arqive helps clients build or work within repositories that meet recognized standards for data security, integrity, and longevity.

  • OAIS Framework
Our practices align with the Open Archival Information System (OAIS), an international reference model for digital preservation.

At Arqive, we help clients in academia, business, cultural institutions, and the nonprofit sector bring order and meaning to their digital collections. We ensure that valuable materials are preserved with care, structured for usability, and prepared for future access and reuse.
